There is a bland of fermented bean curd which is called Nemurase Dofu near my hometown. I’m not sure if the taste is same as Chinese or South east asia’s one. It’s like a cheese which has strong smell. I thought it is really rare. But, you can buy it on the Internet!
高千穂じゃなくて、お隣の椎葉の名産品ですが。「ねむらせ豆腐」という豆腐を発酵させた食べ物です。中国や東南アジアのものとはちょっと違うのかもしれませんが、濃厚なチーズみたいな味わいで、私は大好きです。滅多に手に入らないんですよ〜、って書こうと思ったら、通販やってますね(^ ^;)
